Getting in shape shouldn’t be a punishment. It’s an amazing and empowering lifestyle decision that anyone can make. I believe in finding the pleasurable side of fitness; and while there may be a sore muscle or two along the way, the benefits of fitness is worth the discomfort. I have developed my training regime by working with a variety of people, and always love adapting my program to new clients.
My Biography
High level athlete, Cirque du Soleil artist in Vegas, US Olympic coach in synchronized swimming, teacher of Pilates in the US, Japan, France and Italy: Stephan Miermont has had an incredible journey. His 25 years of experience and his wide variety of expertise in the fields of health, sport and fitness have allowed him to develop a unique and personal vision of fitness. If you add to that his perfectionism, good and calm nature, boundless energy, ability to simplify things, kindness and approachability you can understand why he has already inspired numerous Hollywood stars.
In 1993 he went to the US to coach some of the top synchronized swimming athletes in the world alongside the world’s top coaches. He achieved many successes and victories including taking his athletes to several World Championships and Olympic games (2008,2012,2016,2020) and wan 7 gold , 22 silver and 18 bronze medals.
In 1997 he joined the Cirque du Soleil to develop the show “O” in Las Vegas. Impressed by his creativity the producers and choreographers quickly gave him a leading role in the show. It was here that he discovered Pilates. In 1999 whilst still performing in “O” he took a Pilates instructors course at the University of Las Vegas and gained his instructors license.
In 2003 he began to share his time between the US and Japan and published numerous books and videos on Pilates. From this point he began to concentrate more on a new fitness regime that he created, called Pylametrix. This was based on traditional Pilates practises into which Stephane incorporated Plyometrie movements and deep stretching. He has been teaching this technique since 2004 to Synchronised swimmers in Japan, France, China, Italy, Great Britain and the US. Recently he has done a lot of work as fitness consultant with well-known artists and show business personalities from the US and Japan.
